Description:

Damovo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Buyer IT (m/f/d) to join our Group Procurement team in Düsseldorf. The Lead Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing and procuring IT products and services to support our clients’ needs. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, deep knowledge of IT procurement, and a track record of delivering results in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT products and services, including hardware, software, telecommunications, and cloud solutions, to meet business requirements and objectives
  • Identify, assess, and manage supplier relationships to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, discounts, warranties, and service level agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and go beyond through supplier consolidation, volume discounts, and process efficiencies while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, finance, and business units, to understand requirements, align procurement strategies, and drive value-added solutions
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships, including supply chain disruptions, product quality issues, and cybersecurity risks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities

Experience and skills we value

  • Minimal a bachelor’s degree or Main business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in a Strategic Procurement function and managing suppliers in an international business environment
  • Proven experience in IT procurement (preferable in the IT sector), with a strong understanding of the market and IT products and services, including hardware, software, telecommunications and IT-related services
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective and comprehensive supplier relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of IT market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in procurement tools and systems, such as e-sourcing platforms and contract management software
  • Exceptional dedication to internal customer satisfaction, combined with strong communication abilities in both German and English
