We are currently working on something very exciting and we are on the hunt for a highly skilled and experienced Lead 3D Character Artist to join our ambitious team. As we push the boundaries of creativity and technology, we seek a visionary artist to spearhead our character creation, bringing to life the heart and soul of our next blockbuster game.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A proven experience as a senior/lead 3D character artist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the gaming industry or at least one shipped AAA title from the role of Principal/Lead.
- Strong Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to asset and game creation. As well as a strong willingness to drive content. We believe in empowering professionals with freedom and support so they can leverage their expertise.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your character modeling and texturing skills, highlighting your ability to create realistic characters and creatures with personality and empathy, masterfully employing texturing, organic and hard surface techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience in guiding a team of artists of all levels, showcasing experience in upholding high quality standards.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as ZBrush, Maya/Max/Modo, Substance Painter, and knowledge of PBR workflows.
- A deep passion for games and a good understanding of what makes characters engaging to players.
- Good at adapting to evolving project requirements and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and creative environment.
- Have a strong command of the English language.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of talented 3D character artists, both internal and external, setting the bar for character design quality and ensuring the team’s artistic output aligns with the game’s overall aesthetic as well as performance targets.
- Create AAA quality realistic 3D character models from concept to completion, balancing optimization for real-time rendering with a high level of visual fidelity.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Concept Artists, Game Designers, Engineers, and Animators to develop characters and creature models, ensuring they seamlessly fit into the game’s world and contribute to gameplay mechanics.
- Work with the Art Director to define and maintain the visual style and consistency of the game’s characters, ensuring they resonate with our target audience, narrative and IP DNA.
- Help to craft, hone and oversee character pipelines as well as maximize efficiency and quality while keeping up with industry best practices.
- Work with the Art Director to help provide guidance, mentorship and feedback to other artists, helping them develop their skills and grow.
