Description:

Are you a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in mental health? MARS Recruitment are seeking a Senior Clinician to join a Adolescent - Adult Mental Health Team in a vibrant a regional hospital based in Victoria.
Start date: ASAP - Up to 3 months locum OR perm
Contractual and permanent opportunities available
Full time preferred/ 0.8FTE considered*

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in mental health, psychology, social work, nursing, or a related field.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing mental health assessment, treatment, and support to individuals across the lifespan.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with other professionals to achieve common goals.
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and evidence-based interventions in mental health care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric triage, intake assessments, and treatment planning for individuals seeking mental health services.
  • Provide psycho-education and support to patients and their families or carers to enhance understanding and coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions to review cases and share knowledge.
  • Actively engage in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay abreast of best practices in mental health care.
  • Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed, particularly during out-of-hours and weekend periods, coordinating with the Regional Psychiatric Triage Service.
    Salary per hour (exc. super): Dependent on Qualifications.
