Description:

We are seeking Lead Compositor to join our team of talented artists, working across our feature and episodic productions in our Animation division.
As a Lead Compositor you will be responsible for for developing tools and workflows in Nuke to hit the target visual style of the show. They will implement Nuke gizmos and plugins designed to allow artists to efficiently and effectively dial in sequence and shot creative notes. They will collaborate to deliver required compositing mattes, channels, data, etc. to render as AOVs for lighting.
In addition, during the lighting production schedule, the Compositing Lead will support Lighting, FX and Matte painting teams with unique look development required per sequence that are compositing heavy at the discretion of the Head of Lighting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with look development and template creation to ensure consistency and integrity of execution across a sequence
  • Working in tandem with the Lighting Supervisor to develop the ‘creative look’ on key shots
  • Reviewing shots in a sequence to ensure technical and creative continuity prior to review with Lighting Supervisor
  • Attending dailies and translating creative and technical notes into specific direction for composing artists
  • Implementing efficient and effective solutions and developing creative and technical strategies to meet the needs of Production
  • Providing support and mentorship to the Junior Artists
  • Representing the voice of the Compositing team in respect to workload and pipeline environment
