About the Role
This is a full-time role working within the Data Discovery and Enrichment Organisation at LexisNexis. As a Lead Data Discovery and Enrichment, you will manage a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts. You’ll interact closely with product managers and development team members to define scope and lead execution of AI projects. You will develop and execute best practices for creating training data and evaluating output of AI models. You will use your expertise in the legal domain, and that of the Experts on your team, to drive insights and recommendations to the business that are critical to creating the best features and products for our customers.

Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts are subject matter experts in the legal domain, playing a key role in leading the transformation of legal technology. They partner with data scientists, data engineers, and product managers to create cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions with legal data. Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts provide annotation, evaluation, and feedback to their partners which are critical to the development of these solutions. Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts
  • Being the primary driver of Data Discovery and Enrichment projects and results
  • Performing advanced legal research and analysis
  • Advancing best practices in the creation and maintenance of training data and relevance evaluations
  • Collaborating with internal partners across a variety of different roles
  • Communicating complex information to diverse audiences
  • Leading presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Advocating for Responsible AI

Requirements

  • Be a qualified solicitor or barrister
  • Have advanced professional legal experience
  • Be competent in advanced legal research and writing
  • Have professional experience in one or more of the following areas: managing, coaching, and mentoring of others
  • Be a natural problem solver
  • Have a customer-centric mindset
  • Be able to lead highly complex projects
  • Have an intermediate understanding of machine learning and natural language processing technologies
  • Have significant experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs
  • Have in-depth knowledge or understanding of agile and lean methodologies
