Do you want to be a part of a dynamic company that provides people with safety in their homes? We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer - Azure Specialist! In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our data architecture solutions on the Azure cloud platform. You will deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions that support our business objectives. This role requires expertise in Azure data services, data modeling, ETL processes, PowerBI and a good understanding of modern data architecture principles.
This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Chief Architect and Data.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years of experience specializing in Azure cloud platform.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data architecture solutions on Azure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
  • Strong proficiency in data modeling techniques, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies.
  • Valid work permit in the EU.

Additionally, the following are nice to have (but not essential):

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.
  • Experience with data governance, data security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of data architecture solutions on the Azure cloud platform, including data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and analytics systems.
  • Architect and implement data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure data services to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on end to end data orchestration and processing tooling suitable for business workloads such as data visualization (in power BI), machine learning and other analytical workloads.
  • Lead the creation of a GDPR-compliant master data management (MDM) database for Sector Alarm.
  • Define data collection, deletion and anonymization policy in live systems and work with relevant engineering teams on implementing these policies.
  • Ensure data solutions and practices consistency including using same tooling for a similar purpose (ETL, machine learning, analytics, data visualization etc) across divisions, creating multi-purpose datasets, building a unified data lake, aligning data deletion and anonymization policy across prod systems etc.
  • Enable cloud cost efficiency through the choice of data architecture solutions and the provision of the underlying resources.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture, cloud computing, and data management, and apply them to drive business value and competitive advantage.
  • Educate other engineering teams and the business on data capabilities stemming from data architecture choices.
