Lead Developer Web (Next.js & React) - Scandic Hotels Group

We are at the starting blocks of building an entirely new web and are looking for a Lead Developer. A bit about the technology: Next.js 14, React, App Router, Serverless hosting, OAuth, headless CMS, GraphQL, API/REST, our own design system and component library with Storybook.

About the role:
As our Lead Developer you’ll play a key role in building a new web platform from the ground up. Your main focus will be on frontend development, but your work will span across the entire stack. You and your team will be responsible for ensuring a great user experience, high performance, stability, and security across the web solutions. You’ll have the operational leadership for our awesome web development team and you work with great autonomy.

Our Web & App teams work closely with our API & Integrations team to ensure seamless API integration and optimize data flow and architecture for the best user experience.

• Writing code and establishing coding standards.
• Architecting scalable and secure technical solutions.
• Managing the software development lifecycle from initial concept to full deployment.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to both senior and junior developers.

This role reports to our Tech Lead / Engineering Manager for Web & App and is part of the tech team Customer Journey. We work agile.

Who are you?

• Professional experience with Next.js and React, if you have experience with App Router we will be extra happy.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies such as GraphQL, REST, and serverless hosting.
• Knowledge of modern architectural patterns, particularly headless CMS, and experience with performance optimization for high-traffic e-commerce sites.
• Leadership mindset/skills, promoting a collaborative work environment.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is advantageous.
