ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Compare the Market is currently seeking an exceptional Lead DevOps Engineer to join our vibrant team in Toowong. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency in our development workflows, ensuring seamless operations and delivering exceptional results.
As a key member of our DevOps team, you’ll be instrumental in creating, implementing, and maintaining automated processes for infrastructure deployment and system management. This role involves close collaboration with Software Developers, QA Engineers, and IT staff to optimise build, test, and deployment workflows within a secure and scalable environment. A critical aspect of this role is enforcing governance and compliance measures, contributing to operational excellence across the organisation. By automating repetitive tasks, enhancing system reliability, and adhering to governance standards, you’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless operations and ensuring the organisation’s compliance with industry best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the Head of DevOps, the keys to success in this role include:

  • Teach and guide team members to develop and strengthen the team’s overall skill set.
  • Ensure the long-term sustainability and quality of solutions created or contributed to.
  • Identify and mitigate technical debts, security risks, and other project-related risks.
  • Lead technical discussions and guide the team’s technology choices.
  • Automate processes and implement best practices to improve operational excellence.
  • Oversee and manage the company’s infrastructure, including servers, databases, and networking resources.
  • Serve as the go-to person for solving complex technical issues in the DevOps domain.
  • Implement and oversee monitoring and alerting services.
  • Apply security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Evaluate risks associated with various DevOps tasks and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
  • Explore emerging technologies and methodologies that align with the company’s strategic goals.
