Description:

At MeetingPackage, our vision is to make group bookings (read; +10 bedrooms) , meeting rooms, and event spaces accessible to everyone. We automate the manual booking process to make it faster, more efficient, and delightful. We are looking for our first Lead DevOps Engineer to build and scale our DevOps practices!
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you would drive the operations of our production systems, including leading our daily maintenance, support hardening, and scaling our SaaS services and underlying infrastructure. The capability to support quality assurance automation would be an excellent plus. This is a new role, and you have the opportunity to build our DevOps practices.
Talking about our team, we’re a small, diverse, and friendly team of 40+ professionals and 20+ nationalities spread across the globe with HQ in Espoo, Finland. We believe that embracing diversity and giving ownership to individuals leads to success. We trust team members to make the best decisions. We spend time together and organize offsite events at least once a year, most recently in Malaga, Spain.

In this role, you will:

  • Daily monitoring of production and pre-production systems.
  • Resolve, manage, and analyze production and pre-production incidents.
  • Manage production and pre-production Infrastructure.
  • Manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines in AWS, GitHub and Travis.
  • Develop and maintain Logging infrastructure.

You’ll feel at home if you

  • you have strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, and work seamlessly with our cross-functional teams.
  • have strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test automation, and quality assurance practices. As we are are still a small company, we expect you to support releases and regression testing after releasing changes to production .
  • have AWS proficiency as we run in Amazon and experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • have experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, Jenkins, Github Actions) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef)
  • are expert in Networks: Protocols, Firewalls, Security, Topology.
  • have expertise in database administration inclusing analyzing, tracing, discovering bottlenecks, and optimizing.
  • have experience in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Bash, JavaScript).
  • understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and experience with related tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • have knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Splunk).

Others

  • Willingness to be in On-call rotation also during non-business hours and react to critical incidents upon alert.
  • You can be based anywhere in Finland yet we prefer you are able to visit our Espoo office from time to time.

Why now is a great time to join?

  • You will be our first Lead DevOps Engineer. You have an impact on creating your role and building & scaling our DevOps practices.
  • We’re on the move. We have enough capital to fuel our growth and are willing to find only the knowledgeable people to build a company everybody enjoys working at.
  • You’re joining a team, not just a company. Together, we celebrate, brainstorm and innovate.
  • The industry is evolving. Hotels and venues have been manually working on bookings for a long time. We’re helping our customers – and the industry – to take meeting and event booking online. As our COO Mika keeps reminding us: If something can go online, it will go online.
  • You’re in good care. We offer compensation that includes a monthly salary, healthcare, and a weekly 1-hour workout break. In addition, you’ll get the tools & equipment of your choice, support for remote office, and flexible time off.
