Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Grade Level (for internal use): 11
The Role: Lead DevOps
The Team: S&P Global Market Intelligence team is a creative team of experts collaborating across divisions and driving continuous improvements in platform innovation and usability.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

Joining our team in Canada, the candidate will be responsible for supporting and expanding our cloud/on-premise infrastructure, monitoring and alerting frameworks, onboarding/migration projects, and interacting with the wider DevOps, QA, and development team.
Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, and scalability.
Provide BAU Production support, and resolve issues either spotted by monitoring or reported by users before causing business impact
Develop scripts in Python and Unix shell scripting to automate tasks and streamline processes.
Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform on AWS cloud platform utilizing best practices.
Comfortable with writing database queries, and performing database management with an added advantage of experience in MongoDB.
Set up and configure monitoring solutions, including Grafana, PagerDuty to ensure system health and respond to incidents promptly.
Availability to occasionally participate in weekend production releases/deployments.
What We’re Looking For:Basic Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant DevOps and Software Engineering experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications.
Proven experience working with AWS cloud technologies, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiar with Git/Unix/Linux/PL/SQL skills (MongoDB experience preferred, good experience in scripting or coding would be a plus)
Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as PagerDuty and other industry-standard tools.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying, resolving issues, and raising improvement opportunities
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences.
Be able to work independently, or drive a group of people, to work on improvement projects.
