Lead DevOps/Platform Engineer – Crypto/Blockchain experience beneficial Robert Walters has partnered with a leading global hedge fund who are looking for a Lead DevOps/Platform Engineer, strong on cloud (preferably GCP, but open to others), to join their London team. This is a hybrid role, in their London office, 4 days a week, with a salary ranging between £100,000 - 130,000 base + significant performance related annual bonus + benefits.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Financial services experience
• Cloud (preferably GCP with some service mesh experience)
• Kubernetes
• Terraform
• Helm Charts
• Jenkins & GitHub Actions

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Lead DevOps/Platform Engineer specializing in cloud, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of their cloud infrastructure. You will lead a team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, global financial services environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles, with a focus on cloud technologies.
• Beneficial to have strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Networking.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Helm Charts for managing Kubernetes-based application deployments.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies for microservices architecture is beneficial.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Cloud certifications.
• Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly in hedge funds or asset management firms would be beneficial.
