PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Loads prepared foods from Samaritan House onto delivery truck and delivers product to WES locations. Safely and promptly unloads prepared food and secures it for meal service. Helps serve and oversee meal distribution for each service. Loads truck with all necessary supplies then returns to Samaritan House kitchen and repeats the process throughout a scheduled shift. Makes process decisions when supervisor is not available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that the catering processes for each facility are followed and re-enforced.
  • Responsible for the communication with the WES facility operations team regarding Food Services processes and procedures.
  • Serves as the main contact for the catering team when the catering supervisor is unavailable.
  • Makes process decisions in when supervisor is not available.
  • Loads catered food on the truck and delivers food to designated area safely, timely and within all food service safety guidelines.
  • Unloads food at designated sites, and ensures all products are stored properly at the sites.
  • Maintains the required logs and paper work accurately and timely at the facility where food is served.
  • Helps direct volunteers during meal services.
  • Reports to Catering Supervisor for additional daily tasks.
  • Supports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
  • Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to communicate and interact positively with others
  • Ability to complete basic data entry into computer systems
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values
  • Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
