Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

As an ideal candidate you are expected to have:

  • Engineering degree (MEng, BEng, MSc, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. At least 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements, grid codes, and grid compliance testing procedures
  • Proficient in power system evaluations and studies, including steady state and transient studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, FRT, and power quality)
  • Familiarity with power system simulation software such as DIgSILENT, PSCAD, or PSSE
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WTG HV and MV equipment, as well as substation equipment
  • Project management experience within the wind industry is beneficial

Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer – Power Plant Solutions, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with Transmission/Distribution System Operators. Assess compliance with Grid Codes and other grid-relevant requirements. Collect grid-related market requirements to Vestas’ R&D to ensure future compliance and efficiency of plant offerings
  • Contribute to the technical value engineering of customer renewable energy projects. Collaborate with the Sales team’s experts in their respective fields
  • Ensure compliance with electrical project configuration and requirements from customers and grid transmission operators. Provide timely responses to customer inquiries. Prepare clarifications and deviations for tenders
  • Take ownership of relevant technical risk assessment and mitigation during the Value Engineering/Negotiation phase. Manage technical annexes and contract schedules
  • Gather electrical data and customer/site/grid requirements for project grid integration studies. Initiate and review Electrical Pre-Design (EPD) studies
  • Provide technical support beyond the initial Sales phase. Prepare grid compliance test protocols (plans and procedures). Support during test execution
  • Keep track of regional legislation (e.g., Grid Code). Participate in working groups to define the set of market requirements
