WHAT WE DO:
The Lead Embedded Application Software Architect is responsible for the architecture of the application software for our production vehicle. This role collaborates with engineering departments to come up with an electrical hardware architecture for the vehicle and design the software architecture hosted on this hardware architecture and considers factors such as certifiability and future performance upgrades and begins the implementation of this software.
This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Design the software architecture for our vehicle
- Manage and contribute to the technical implementation of the avionics application architecture by the software team
- Design and implement guidelines/procedures for the development of embedded safety-critical avionics application functions
- Develop requirements for the embedded software applications that are compliant with the application architecture
- Develop embedded avionics applications to the requirements
- Assist in building a lab for the testing and integration of the avionics applications and systems
- Work directly with simulated, laboratory, and field test data to debug the software
- Interview candidates for the software team
- Produce documentation in support of avionics systems certification to required standards
- Partner with PMO organization to execute build plan
- May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
