JOB DESCRIPTION:
We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - Aero Development Team (Thermal) to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will lead a group of engineers to manage, coordinate and develop the aerodynamic thermal systems of the team’s race car, through the analysis of computational methods and an innovating approach to design and development.. REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar role within the motorsport industry.
- A proven track record in aero thermal management or powertrain cooling.
- Well versed in numerical methods and fluid dynamics.
- Excellent knowledge of CFD thermal methods and be able to generate and interpret aerothermal results from analysis and/or experimentation.
- Well versed with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
- Experience in leading, managing and directly contributing to aero thermal development.
- Experience in planning, organising, and managing aerodynamic development projects against pre-agreed targets.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Ability to line manage/lead teams effectively.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities:
- Management and responsibility of the Thermal Team.
- Lead the development of aerodynamic cooling solutions for all aerothermal requirements, ensuring target performance parameters are achieved.
- Deliver aerodynamic performance to the race car, by analysing CFD and wind tunnel data as well as innovating throughout the design and development process.
- Have a strong understanding of the aerodynamic structures and behaviors around the race car.
- Work with management groups to construct a mutually agreed and communicated aerodynamic development plan.
- Evaluate, investigate and implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis, and reporting.
- Lead collaborative discussions and efforts to improve performance, offering ideas and taking on board feedback from others.
- Communicate key findings, opportunities, and threats to Aerodynamics department stakeholders.
