The Lead Engineer, AI Software for Leica Biosystems is responsible for developing software enterprise products, regulated products and tools that will enhance digital pathology solutions offered by LBS. To achieve our goals, you will interface with AI Lab scientists, development teams, external AI product partners, product marketing, and our valued customers as we augment our scanning and imaging platform with capabilities.
This position is part of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Research & Development team located in Vista, CA and will be a fully remote position, reporting to the Principal Architect, AI Software.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with API development and integration
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and web application development.
  • Experience with C# and/or GOlang, SQL and/or database and JavaScript/Typescript

IT WOULD BE A PLUS IF YOU ALSO POSSESS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN:

  • Masters degree
  • Experience with discipline around check-in, code review and source control
  • Experience working in regulated Diagnostics, Digital Pathology, or pharmaceuticals environment is desired.
  • Experience working in an agile environment

    The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop end to end solutions that will include backend services, web services, and web applications using C#/GOlang, JavaScript/Typescript and other similar languages.
  • Participates in the full lifecycle of application, including CICD pipeline, designing, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, deployment as well as support and maintenance.
  • Support in creating and managing database systems using SQL Lite.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams like product management, program management, RA/QA, AI scientists etc. to complete deliverables on time.
  • Deploy software in cloud environments as well as on-prem customer solutions.
