  • Fully time served apprenticeship in given trades (Desirable)

  • Accredited Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely Desirable)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Atlas Workplace Services has a great opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our engineering team in Chiswick, overseeing a portfolio of sites for one of our key clients.
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to oversee our maintenance operations, managing a small team of Multi-skilled Engineers. As the Lead Engineer you will work closely with the Account Manager to ensure all PPM and Reactive Works are completed within the SLAs.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all staff have a safe working environment and comply with the Health & Safety plan.
  • To provide a site level interface between Atlas Workplace Services Engineers/sub-contractors, the contract co-ordinator, the contract manager & respective clients
  • To directly supervise the site engineering team, that will deliver across the range of service in a coordinated, supportive, and effective way.
  • Manage an effective and efficient service position that delivers contract compliance across various delivery streams.Working with the Contract Manager to ensure efficient, cost-effective solutions are achieved across all spheres.
  • Ensure Group Health & Safety Policy is embedded in day-to-day area operations.
  • Act as a conduit between site CREWS team, engineers, and the contract manager.
  • Through customer liaison, understand what is important to the client, identifying significant issues that matter to key stakeholders and building action plans to manage these for the customer.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client to ensure there is full ownership and accountability.
  • Able to travel to another QVC site as required.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH risk assessments are kept in date and renewed when required using the Atlas Workplace Services processes.
  • Ensure the PUWER register is kept up to date and request new equipment as required.
  • Conduct regular PPE checks for the engineering team to ensure all PPE is safe to use and record as necessary.
  • Identify team training requirements and request to be delivered through line manager. Training must be relevant and business or Health & Safety specific to allow for the self-delivery model.
  • Deliver technical PPM and reactive maintenance on your own responsible tasks, whilst ensuring the rest of your team are delivering theirs. This will requires ‘hands on’ for some tasks.
  • Advise, train and supervise your engineering team, ensuring any given KPI’s are met, utilising the Company procedures and disciplinary processes where necessary.
  • Ensure engineering and personal standards are kept high. For both engineers and engineering spaces (plant/switch rooms)
  • Provide effective communication and support to the contract co-ordinator and contract manager.
  • Liaison for sub-contractors attending to site for any works. Ensuring health and safety and engineering standards are met.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE

  • Computer Literate – good understanding of modern office software. 1 years’ experience of working with asset/work management systems such as MAXIMO / CAFM systems.
  • 1-year experience in a supervisory position with an engineering maintenance company or equivalent. (Desirable)
  • Familiarity of Android style tablets and laptop computers.
  • Experience in supervising multi-skilled engineers in a Facilities Management environment.
  • Previous experience within similar environment and in particular across area multi sites and multi discipline service delivery
  • Customer and client focus – must have >1 years’ experience in customer facing outsourcing environment.
  • Sub-contractor management – 1 years’ experience of supervision of technical service providers, to include issuing of permits to work and access
