Responsibilities:

The Lead Engineer Fleet Renewal Projects leads the Fleet Renewal Team and reports to the Engineering Manager. He communicates technical and organizational topics and engages and leads the team. He leads fleet replacement programs and projects regarding the introduction of pax to freighter converted A/C into the European DHL fleet as well extensive modification programs on request.

  • Actively lead the team following the principles of Respect & Results and lead by example to ensure team performance on key tasks.. Assure compliance with all internal as well external requirements of national authorities.
  • Engagement of the team to ensure provision of high standard technical services to EAT and DHL Express
  • Responsibility for team performance, safe and cost-effective decision making using cost benefit calculations, on-time completion of technical projects
  • Managing actively the fleet renewal projects
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the projects will be evaluated.
  • Steering all activities to assure a smooth Phase-in and Phase-out of all aircrafts concerning to fleet renewal projects.
  • Review project schedules and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs. Guarantee an overview of all project related matters, especially finance, aviation law and DHL policies.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
  • Contributing process improvements.
  • Ensure acceptable training standards and completion of all HR matters for the team in close liaison with the Engineering Manager
  • Developing, implementing and review new process concepts and techniques
