Job Title: Lead Engineering
Location: Alrode, Gauteng
Employment Type: In office (Full Time)
Package and Remuneration: R60-R80k depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing projects. This role includes the management of consulting and in-house engineers, as well as checking and approving analytical calculations, empirical simulations, CAD models, and manufacturing drawings.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5 years of work experience in a relevant field of engineering and management.
• 2 years of experience working as a lead engineer.
• CAD experience (Solidworks).
• Experience using a product management system (Team Centre).
• Hands-on experience with mining logistics machinery.
• Proficient in office products such as Teams, Excel, and Word

• Site visits required.
• Set up project requirements and schedules.
• Generate project scope.
• Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing, technical, and customer requirements.
• Ensure all design projects are completed within budget and on time.
• Delegate tasks, track progress, and report on outcomes.
• Manage the engineering team.
• Interact with clients.
• Conduct site visits and oversee commissioning.
• Focus on project management and design from conception to completion.
• Demonstrate strong design and mechanical, structural analysis competency, including FEA.
• Supervise both mechanical engineers and draftsmen within their own project scope as well as others.
• Conduct structural analysis on chassis design concepts.
