As a Lead Facilities Coordinator you will provide lead site support through the coordination and performance of diverse activities related to facility services, building maintenance, engineering projects, and equipment maintenance.
A day in the Life:
- Coordinates and performs multiple and at times complex facilities support services to include project execution, triaging work orders such as building maintenance and repairs, equipment setup and maintenance, and/or the coordination of transportation services.
- Strong back ground with preventive maintenance and repairs on -80 freezers cascade systems, refrigerated lab equipment, walk in
- Coordinates assigned activities with outside contractors and vendors, as needed.
- Makes recommendations for improving service delivery and procedures.
- Responds to facility-related emergencies, as assigned.
- May cross-train or mentor department staff.
Keys to Success:
EDUCATION
- High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
EXPERIENCE
- Technical positions may require a certificate (a CFC Universal Card is required.)
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 6 years).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- 3+ years of Refrigeration experience needed
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and balance priorities
- Positive attitude and the ability to interact effectively with others
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of specialized outsourced suppliers and vendors
- May require advanced knowledge of building systems including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and controls
- May require a good understanding of security systems
Responsibilities:
- Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
- Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours.
- Able to move effectively throughout facility, including lifting and moving objects up to 35-50 pounds.
- Able to work in non-traditional work environments.
- Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
- Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
- May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments
