Job Description:
Looking to join an energetic and dynamic warehouse team? Pet Valu, a specialty retailer of pet food and supplies for Bosley’s, Tisol, and Total Pet, is looking for candidates like you!
We are looking for LEAD HAND to join our team at our Calgary, Alberta Distribution Center to fill the following FULL -TIME CONTRACT day shift position.
Pay rate $21 to $25
Shift time: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm
Contract: 17-month contract

What you will be doing:

  • Applied knowledge and proven ability to maintain proper H&S culture, internal and external legislative requirements on site always
  • Maintain and enforce a safe and secure work area or site to protect employees and our business
  • Applied knowledge and proven ability to sustain facility within internal and external legislative requirements
  • Applied knowledge and proven ability to Lead a team effectively Mentors and Trains team members positively and consistently
  • Holds team accountable to established expectations and remove roadblocks preventing them from achieving their goals
  • Monitors respective area of responsibility and communicates any risk immediately to direct Supervisor or Manager
  • Participates actively in continuous improvement ideas and initiatives as a key change management champion
  • Ensures sanitation levels are maintained at tour ready levels as required Executes a high level of communication internally and externally as required Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

Education

  • High School

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an equivalent Leadership role in a Warehouse environment
  • Experiencing Leading teams of 15-30 employees
  • Flexibility to work additional hours and weekends as the business requires Strong general overall knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution Operations Minimum of 1 year of previous certified Single or Double Pallet Jack operation experience (mandatory)
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous certified Reach operation experience (mandatory)
