Description:

The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a Workday / SNOW (ServiceNow HR) Technology Lead. In this role, you will leverage Workday and ServiceNow platforms to drive technological solutions and improvements within an organization. Initially, you will be focused on the design, build, and launch of the overall operating model, regional service delivery offering and HR Service Centre. As Workday SNOW Technology Lead, your role is to drive the strategic use of Workday and ServiceNow platforms to enhance business operations, improve user experience, and drive digital transformation within the organization. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing technical implementations, and ensuring the successful adoption and utilization of Workday and ServiceNow solutions across the enterprise. This pivotal role focuses on configuring and maintaining our core HR systems to optimize HR operations and enhance employee engagement and productivity. Reporting to the HR Transformation team and partnering closely with the HR Technology team, you drive process improvements and ensure system functionalities align with business needs.
This is a full-time permanent position that can be performed out of Ireland or the UK remotely. What we’re looking for
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Workday Certification / ServiceNow Certification.
  • Strong technical skills in Workday and ServiceNow platforms are essential. This includes expertise in configuring and customizing Workday modules (such as HCM, Time and Payroll) and ServiceNow applications for HR Service Delivery.
  • Experience leading complex technology projects, particularly in the implementation and integration of Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with HR and IT service management processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design innovative solutions and troubleshooting technical issues that arise during Workday and ServiceNow implementations.

Knowledge:

  • Experience working in a large-scale organization with complex IT infrastructure.
  • Familiar with Workday and integrations with internal systems, including ServiceNow.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address configuration challenges.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to manage deadlines and deliver on time.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with business partners across various levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize HR operations.
  • Innovative: able to create many options to solve issues and choose the best option which results in the desired results.

Solution Design and Architecture:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design innovative solutions that leverage Workday and ServiceNow technologies to address business needs and challenges.
  • Define system architectures, workflows, and integrations to optimize processes and enhance user experience.

Implementation and Configuration:

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of Workday and ServiceNow solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and best practices.
  • Customize system settings, workflows, and interfaces to meet specific organizational needs and objectives.

Integration Management:

  • Oversee the integration of Workday and ServiceNow platforms with other enterprise systems.
  • Design and implement data integrations and middleware solutions to enable seamless information exchange and process automation.

Custom Development:

  • Coordinate custom development efforts, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of customizations and enhancements to Workday and ServiceNow applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and technical teams to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.

Change Management and Governance:

  • Oversee the change management processes and governance frameworks to effectively manage system changes, updates, and releases.
  • Implement controls and protocols to ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy requirements.

Platform Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of both Workday and ServiceNow platforms, including their capabilities, functionalities, and integrations.
  • Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements to maximize the value of these systems.

User Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end users and stakeholders on how to effectively utilize Workday and ServiceNow functionalities and features.
  • Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and offer ongoing support to promote user adoption and proficiency.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Implement performance tuning, system enhancements, and scalability measures to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, integrations, and processes.
  • Establish knowledge sharing mechanisms to disseminate best practices and troubleshooting tips.
