SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Chartered Engineer through the IET.
  • Strong understanding and leadership of the engineering projects through asset lifecycles.
  • Track record of leading teams in the delivery of FEED or detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects.
  • TP141 or equivalent authorised or ability to do so.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain existing and develop new client relationships.
  • Experience in a leadership/management position in a similar environment, including coaching/mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream for Transmission and Distribution clients.
  • Ensure adequate quality assurance and delivery of FEED, Detailed design and bids.
  • Ensure adequate resources and training of resources for the purposes of delivering FEED and detailed design work.
  • Act as TP141/Assurance Engineer where required.
  • Review the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations and technical specification for the HV plant equipment.
  • Coordination with engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Manage tender packages as tender manager and doing HV plant aspects of technical offers.
  • Attend and chair the design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing HV plant design packages.
  • Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required.
  • Strong communication skills along with teamworking attributes.
  • Identify customer needs and develop business relationships.
