Wood Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranging from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally – Australia through to Europe, Middle east Africa and Asia.
Reporting to the functional Manager EIC this role will see you join our project team for one of Australia’s most significant greenfield developments within the precious metals sector, supporting project development in advanced engineering and design deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering best practice I&C design and documentation in alignment with the Company organisational and Client requirements
  • Ensure that design activities are performed within allocated project budgets and time constraints to ensure tasks are delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner
  • Lead a team of professionals, supporting and mentoring younger trainee or designers in key areas
  • Maintain and apply a working knowledge of design standards and codes
  • Ensure that all design deliverables have been prepared, checked and approved in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance system and drafting procedures
  • Work in conjunction with other Discipline Designers, Engineers and supervisors to support engineering project delivery
  • Readily take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on the project

    This opportunity is seeking those who have built careers within the resources sector, ideally within the mineral processing design of large scale greenfield/brownfield developments work.

You will also have:

  • Prior experience in the in Instrumentation & Control design of mineral processing facilities,
  • Strong knowledge in applying relevant I&C industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate discipline requirements to other members of the project team
  • Ability to deliver best practice design and drafting, with emphasis on cost-effective design –
  • Competency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD /3D Tools
  • Knowledge of and exposure to key Clients in Mining & Minerals
