Lead Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer with strong back expertise in AWS and familiarity with modern development practices.
This role involves taking on significant technical responsibilities, mentoring team members, and actively contributing to team discussions on design.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

• Strong understanding of software development and operations principles
• Experience in DevOps roles with a focus on AWS
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with tools like Terraform
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeliningStrong container experience
• Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodology

• Lead the Infrastructure team in both setting strategy and managing daily work
• Strong experience in Terraform, Kubernetes and AWS services.
• People management of the infrastructure team providing consistent feedback on performance via 1:1’s, conduct quarterly performance evaluations and help remove non technical roadblocks.
• Managing the talent pipeline for the team; hiring and encouraging career progressionLead the DevOps practice and encourage squads across the organisation to adopt DevOps practices and improve their self service capability with respect to AWS and Kubernetes.
• Help drive adoption and usage of monitoring tools and dashboards for setting and meeting SLOs in teams across the business
• Provide the Development team with fit for purpose and fit for use AWS services, encouraging them to use others services where it makes sense
• Being aware of the squads roadmaps and influencing cloud best practices
• Being a catalyst for the infrastructure squad; increasing the overall performance of the team.
