Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

This opportunity is a full-time position, with artists required to reside in the Republic of Ireland. We provide flexible working arrangements, including on-site, fully remote, or hybrid options.
Starting date: July 2024

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in TV Series Animation (CG) Production as a Lead.
  • Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail.
  • Superior eye for Light, Shade, Colour, and detail.
  • Good Knowledge of Maya, Nuke/Fusion, and After Effects.
  • Experience with Arnold is a must, Redshift or Katana is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python, C++, scripting for Nuke, and Maya API a plus.
  • Experience with Shotgun/ShotGrid/FPT is a must.
  • Experience with a render manager (Deadline a plus).
  • Task-driven, Troubleshooter, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, take feedback and direction, as well as provide one as part of mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Art Director and Supervisor to create Master Light rigs and assemble Lighting setups for Characters, Environments, & Props depending on the needs and chosen style of the show.
  • Follow the Lighting and Comp Lead or Supervisor’s direction to match the established look-dev and standard of existing shots/frames.
  • Light 3D scenes to capture the mood and enhance storytelling under the direction of the Art Director, CG Supervisor, Departmental Supervisor and Lead(s).
  • Create high-quality renders of Characters, Props & Environments for internal and client approval throughout the process.
  • Integrate rendered CG elements and layers in Comp and use compositing and artistic techniques in order to produce final shots.
  • Assist in the creation or editing of shaders.
  • Help build preset, gizmos, and library for the department and project(s).
  • Collaborate with the Lighting and Comp Supervisor and CG Supervisor as well as Modelling and Surfacing departments to troubleshoot creative and technical issues when required.
  • Participate in reviews as required.
  • Communicate with the Production Team, Departmental Lead(s), Supervisors and CG Supervisor on concerns ahead of time.
  • Balance quick turnarounds with achieving a high degree of aesthetic quality.
  • Maintain technical expertise and adjust to changing procedures and technologies.
  • Liaise with Production on task assignments (casting) and scheduling of the team, helping to plan assignments/shots/revisions in the context of the overall schedule and direction of a given episode. Additionally, have a clear understanding of the style, quality, continuity, technical, scheduling, and budgetary requirements of the Production.
  • Mentor your team members by providing constructive continuous feedback, and guiding them to become better at their tasks.
  • Maintain an open and professional demeanour when providing or taking directions, undertaking revisions and altering approaches as required.
