The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will Lead a team of technicians to provide front-line support and project implementation for high speed automated assembly lines.

  • Responsible for Equipment performance – deliver uptime – output – Yield target KPI’s
  • Supporting production equipment in a medical device healthcare environment
  • Repairing and troubleshooting automated electro/mechanical equipment failures
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance procedures through PEMAC
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
  • Work proactively to ensure production performance targets are met
  • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices are followed.
  • Support Engineering projects and lead actions assigned to maintenance group
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement projects to drive improvements in OEE

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Day to day support to ensure all short term open actions are closed and deliver stability to the line. Work with zone technicians and help when required.
  • Assist with issues that are difficult for a shift technician to resolve quickly (due to their workload, shift schedule, etc.), eg. Issues that are complex that will take more than a few hours to resolve.
  • Responsible for corrective action lists and activities.
  • Help implement and for co-ordinate new PM system (pemac).
  • Understand and be able to run reports for tracking equipment downtime and work with engineers and technicians to put effective corrective and preventative measures in place to prevent reoccurrence where possible.
  • Work with Engineers and technicians to identify & implement new projects.
  • Compare and ensure optimal resolutions are transferred across all relevant shifts.
  • Provide technical leadership for supervisors where required.
  • Provide reports showing progress on projects.
  • Develop documented troubleshooting guidelines where required.
  • Provide training to new Technician hires and run refresher classes where required.
  • Develop and implement cross training plan for technicians to facilitate job rotation and holiday cover.
  • Budget management for spares and projects
  • Responsible for Yield and output across automation lines on the shift
  • Introduction of cost effective parts replacement system, including spares repairs, spares availability and lower cost parts.
  • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices are followed.
  • Will abide to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Policies and any relevant other EHS documentation.
  • Will comply with all relevant training required and adhere to relevant associated documentation.
  • Follow strict adherence to the requirements of CGMP.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of compliance initiatives for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure attendance at Tier Meetings and provide updates for all line equipment and processes
  • Foster and promote a positive work culture between all functions and leadership

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree/Senior Trades in /Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • 8 + years experience in a similar technical role within the medical device or similar industry
  • Mechanical experience within an automated manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills and analytical methodologies
  • Flexibility to work different Shift Patterns as the business requires

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, motor drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Thorough knowledge of Conveyors, Robotics, Automation, Sensors, Servo systems
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical ability.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Teamwork abilities – Foster a collaborative culture
  • Experience is a regulated industry with automated production is a distinct advantage

Role Location: Athlone, Ireland

Remuneration

  • Salary - €high-reaching dependent on skills and experience plus excellent benefits package.
  • Shift Allowance – 33% (12-hour x 4 cycle shift patterns 7am-7pm/7pm-7am)
