JOB TITLE: LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER - COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION

Your Opportunity: Executrade is proud to support the growth of our client, a leading provider of equipment solutions to Canada’s construction and agriculture sectors. As Lead Mechanical Engineer you will join the real estate development farm of an industry leader with proven expertise to design, build, and manage advanced commercial buildings and facilities. As part of a self performing construction team, you will be responsible for the design and approval of Mechanical Engineering works associated with the construction of new commercial buildings and renovation projects. Your renumeration will include a comprehensive compensation plan that includes a competitive salary, health benefits and performance bonuses. This position is based out of Regina Saskatchewan and relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Position Overview: As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and execution of mechanical systems for commercial and light industrial construction and renovation projects. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers and collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects is on time and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial system engineering with P.Eng. designation (or ability to register) in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on commercial and industrial construction projects. Consulting Office experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical proficiency in HVAC design, plumbing systems, and fire protection.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk software.
  • Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), Plumbing Code, Gas Code, NFPA, and industry practice & regulations/applicable Codes having jurisdiction
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail coupled with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
