Description:

Fluor GmbH is the German subsidiary of Fluor Corporation (USA) with office locations in Mannheim, Berlin and Ratingen. As an engineering services company with around 100 employees, we offer our clients solutions in industrial plants and infrastructure facilities in the areas of Energy Solutions and Advanced Technologies & Life Sciences with a focus on Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM).
For our Office in Mannheim, we are currently looking for a full-time Lead Mechanical Engineer to support our engineering team.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role consist of:

  • Within projects you are the responsible Lead Engineer for Mechanical, taking care of processing needed components (static and rotating components, other machines and units).
  • Your participation in the preparation of offers for cost estimation, scheduling, risk assessment and staffing requirements is required.
  • You are responsible for the active coordination of interfaces with customers, suppliers, internal specialist departments and supervisory authorities.
  • Defining relevant codes, standards and design regulations for projects falls in your area of responsibility.
  • You independently work on the design and dimensioning of the components.
  • You are responsible for creating technical specifications for the procurement, testing, production, acceptance and, if necessary, also for the assembly and commissioning of the components, while taking customer requirements, legal regulations and relevant regulations & standards into account.
  • You obtain offers, create offer comparisons and requirements for components for ordering.
  • You check and coordinate the suppliers’ production documentation until production is released by the customer and designated bodies.
  • You are responsible for monitoring production, participating in production tests and acceptance tests, checking and compiling the final documentation, monitoring delivery and, if necessary, coordinating assembly and commissioning.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • You have successfully completed a degree (B.Sc / M.Sc or B.Eng / M.Eng or Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering or comparable studies. You have already gained professional experience (5-8 years) as a Mechanical Engineer or in a comparable position.
  • You are fluent in German (min. C1 level) and English (min. B2 level).
  • You have in-depth knowledge regarding static and rotating equipment.
  • You are able to work with Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG, Explosion Protection Directive 2014/34/E, AD-2000 leaflets, DIN EN 13445 and ASME
  • You are an experienced user of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Also knowing how to use AutoCAD, DIMy, Nozzle Pro, Visual Vessel or Navis Works is advantageous.
