JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Mechanical engineer will serve as our value stream engineer driving design solutions of our manufacturing process, including heavy machining and forging equipment. This engineer is self-directed and displays significant knowledge of mechanical tool & die and manufacturing automation disciplines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering).

• Manage tool and die design primarily for mechanical forge presses.
• Construct detailed drawings of tools, dies, and tool holders including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Drive automation technology for heavy machining and forging environment.Define and control production process including tooling and equipment for forge equipment and various manufacturing processes.
• Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of this value stream technical discipline.
• Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
• In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
• Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward task.
• Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
• May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members.
