Description:

This role is an essential part of the nursing leadership team focusing on attracting and retaining quality nursing staff to the Trust to meet our current and future workforce plans.
The post holder will support the Deputy Chief Nurse with the overview and coordinating functions for leading and developing the Trust approach to Nursing workforce/safer staffing in line with national and regulatory requirements.
The post holder will build upon their specialist knowledge and function as an expert within workforce development, effectively contributing to the Trust agenda.
The post holder will prepare nursing workforce reports for internal and external submissions.
The post holder will work closely with the recruitment team for international and domestic recruitment campaigns and as required support the Divisional Chief Nurses in the allocation and induction of new staff. Be instrumental in retention and succession planning across the organisation.
The post holder will work closely with education and training leads to ensure there is a clear strategy for developing our current workforce and local population into nursing posts linked to new pathways for nurse training such as Nursing Apprenticeship’s and Return to practise courses.
A key element for the role is to lead on the development of Trust wide nursing & midwifery retention strategies that will support the retention of nursing & midwifery staff. Supporting leaders to develop strategies where individuals feel valued and proud of the care they provide whilst also being supported with their career aspirations through education, practice, and experiential learning opportunities, which are fair and equal to all.
The role will work in collaboration with our partners and other professional networks to ensure best practice in nurse recruitment and retention is shared across the system.

Work in collaboration with workforce, recruitment and education and professional colleagues to ensure there is a robust recruitment strategy for registered and unregistered nursing and midwifery post
Understand and monitor current and future predicted vacancies for registered and unregistered nursing and midwifery staff across the Trust
Be responsible for maintaining the Trusts workforce dashboard,
Work in liaison with the HR lead for international and domestic recruitment campaigns
Support training on safe care and good roster management
Work with recruitment and communication team to develop material that promotes HHFT as an employer
Support partnership working with Universities to maximise domestic supply
Develop as an expert in recruitment and retention, acting as a resource to the Trust
Work with key teams to organise and facilitate annual safe staffing and skill mix reviews
analysis data and produce the monthly safer staffing report
Contribute to the development and review of the Trusts’ and CNO Workforce Strategy,
Monitor and review workforce KPIs and measurements of succes
