Description:

This is a key developmental role supporting the Matron in Paediatrics and Neonates to lead the overall nursing performance of the directorate. They will support the achievement of all local, organisational and national targets and standards.
The post holder will provide visible leadership to staff within the directorate and ensure the delivery of agreed objectives and plans across the directorate’s activities with the aim of securing: Best healthcare in the UK for our patients in our community.
Provide professional leadership to nursing and other direct care staff within the directorate. Work as a visible, accessible and authoritative presence to whom patients and families can turn to for advice, support and assistance.
We have a very clear vision to provide the best healthcare in the UK to patients in our community . We will measure everything we do against our four simple aims, helping us make our vision a reality. These aims are: to provide the best patient experience, the best patient health outcomes, and the best value for money, while also being the best place to work, train and learn.
We believe we can achieve our vision, and we can also make it affordable. To do this we must change. Year on year, rounds of savings plans and targets would not be enough – we need to fundamentally change the way we work and the way we think.
To help us work together to achieve this we have developed a new way of working. This involves clinicians in all aspects of running services, including how money and resources are used, to deliver better, affordable healthcare. To be successful will require not only clinical leadership for service improvement and strong teamwork but a different model of organising our services. This model separates out three different kinds of patient needs - and the clinical priorities that go with them - and organises different ways of working to suit each set of needs.
