Description:
High Tide Inc. is seeking a hands-on Lead, Operations Accountants. Our organization is fast paced, growing, and highly successful in the cannabis retail space. Management accountants analyze key financial information to optimize financial planning. They assist senior business managers with financial decision-making, prepare financial reports, and develop and implement strategies to reduce businesses’ operational and production costs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review month-end workbooks and related journal entries, including accruals.
- Review bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review store daily cash reconciliation.
- Review GST filings.
- Overseeing members and reviewing their work.
- Hands-on position that requires transaction processing and account reconciliation skills.
- Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate templates & systems that can be leveraged for future projects.
- ERP –supports the implementation of the GL Structure: Business Units, Profit & Cost Centers, GL framework.
- Support the development & implementation of cost-effective financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure that these policies and procedures not only adhere to regulatory standards (IFRS), but also to provide value-add to the business.
- Support the deployment of those policies across High Tide companies – including international subsidiaries.
- Support the standardization of GL usage across all entities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA accounting designation with 5 - 7 years post-designation experience is required.
- Relevant IFRS and financial reporting experience is required.
- Highly motivated individual who shows initiative and is focused on achieving results while contributing to a positive, can-do culture.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals.
- Being an extremely hands-on user of the ERP system and driving data, reporting and efficiency using this system.
