We are now looking for a Lead Purchaser to join our Sourcing team in the Wood Products Division, Finland.

In this role, you are responsible for negotiating local contracts, framing agreements, handling one-off investments and major repair purchases with negotiations, and delivering materials and services to meet customer order requirements. You plan and run negotiations within the given framework and according to guidelines for Finnish mills in the Wood Products Division. Your tasks also include to secure the best price for all purchases without jeopardizing quality. You participate in developing local sourcing plans and source-to-contract processes.
You are responsible for keeping negotiated purchases running smoothly by ensuring that it has all of the supplies, and services that it needs. The purchaser is a negotiator who must be a good steward of the company’s financial resources. With the target to support daily business, reduce procurement spend, and lower the OWC as well as contribute to the development of the function toward best practice. You also maintain a database of vendors and act as a sourcing representative towards Mill and Categories and suppliers.
You also provide assistance and advice to all department managers regarding purchases and purchase cycles from the commercial point of view and capture cross-mills synergies. In this role, you report to Purchasing Manager. We apply a hybrid way of working. Your location could be either in one of our Mills or in the Helsinki office. Our Mills are located in Varkaus, Joutseno and Kemi, Veitsiluoto.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a person with a college/university degree in a relevant area (engineering/technical or economics/finance). You have 3-5 years’ experience within the field of Purchasing. You communicate fluently in Finnish and English written and spoken, both languages are mandatory. Your daily work is mostly with Finnish-speaking stakeholders.
