Lead R&D Engineer

The Adler Pelzer Group is a worldwide leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of acoustic and thermal components and systems for the automotive sector. With more than 15,000 employees and approximately 100 manufacturing and R&D facilities, we deliver to all major car brands globally.
For our R&D facility in Bochum, Germany, we are currently looking for a Lead R&D Engineer with focus on Injection/Polyurethane/Felt know-how.

Main Activities:

• Technical offer preparation for components based on latest technology or best practice
• Development of concepts of materials/components - design, functionality, performance
• Feasibility studies and definition of material structures, manufacturing processes incl. tool concepts and process parametres
• Leading development projects, incl. testing, commissioning, material or process optimization
• Collaboration with suppliers, in co-ordination with other production plants or specialist departments of the Adler Pelzer Group
• Securing material and material-specific requirements for the development of components that are based on the latest trends and technologies
• Negotiation with customers, suppliers and other partners
• Participation in material development projects, bench-marking and other R&D activities

Profile:

• University Degree in Engineering, Science or other technical area
• Profound English language skills, plus good German
• Experience in product and technology development, quality management and material testing
• Knowledge of materials and technologies of sound insulation and trim components within Automotive industry
• Team player
• Team coaching and leadership experience or potential
