Description:

Ayrton Group have an immediate requirement for a Lead Safety Advisor working with our client, a large Engineering group, on a power station project in the Dublin region.
This is a 6 month contract role, with the potential for extension on to a similar project also in the Dublin region. The project involves heavy equipment installation, pipe erection, ductwork installation/insulation, and testing.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years’ work experience in Health and Safety required.
  • Minimum of a recognised Diploma in Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience in either pharmaceutical construction or power generation is required.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
  • Confidence to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and management of Safety Management System on-site.
  • Management of all Health and Safety employees.
  • Overseeing all subcontractors on-site.
  • Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure Health and Safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
  • Coordination of weekly Health and Safety meetings.
  • Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
  • Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
  • Assisting in the initiation and organization of Health and Safety training of employees and executives.
  • Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
  • Managing, developing, and maintaining incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
  • Weekly/monthly reporting to client and site management.
