What you’ll do
The team is focused on redefining the next generation of capabilities for all New Relic. You will be responsible for products that help customers answer their most substantial questions by allowing them to store, visualize, explore, and understand their operational, application, business, and customer data. The Staff Engineering team works on different business-impacting projects with a sense of urgency and importance.
This role requires
- Experience with technical leadership helping engineering teams thrive
- Experience with high throughput, distributed systems
- Experience with a language such as Java, C#, Ruby, Python, or other
- Experience working with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Extensive experience in a SaaS environment, building and operating large scale distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate and impact decisions at the interpersonal level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Observability domain knowledge
- Experience operating containerized services (Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon)
- Solid understanding of databases (RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with configuration management tooling (Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet)
- BS/MS/PhD in CS (or equivalent).
