The role requires an equal balance of technical expertise, gained through current, hands-on involvement in developing real-world systems, and excellent interpersonal skills allied with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships in high pressure environments.
The Lead Solutions Architect is expected to carry out a wide range of activities, from actively writing code as a senior member of the development team and breaking down complex problems and identifying steps towards solutions, through to coaching individuals and engaging with non-technical people at all levels of seniority.
A Lead Solutions Architect can define and design a solution from technical requirements or business requirements. Understand the current Integration and Data Architecture, but also look to other solutions to meet either technical or business needs. Ability to document the overall architecture and how a solution will fit into this architecture. Need to detail specifications around the architecture including system and support requirements.
A key part of the Solutions architects’ role will be to design the architecture around the transition from old to new systems, including:
- Product expansion
- Implementing Customer Relationship Management platform
- Customer facing portals as part of Digital Transformation initiatives
The Lead Solution Architect is responsible for complex analysis and design of systems solutions across multiple technical and business environments. Working closely with both business partners and application developers across the enterprise, this position acts as subject matter expert for multiple integration suites and various technical platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, in the development, operation and ongoing improvement of complex, transformational digital services serving CCA’s constituents.
- Collaborate with the Business SMEs, Product owners, and leadership to understand / influence business requirements, capabilities, and feature definitions
- Engage, lead business discussions, and facilitate / generate standard business requirements, process documents, data flows
- Create architectural analysis and documents that can guide the development and other teams can learn from
- Act as the technical authority in prospective, information gathering and scene setting meetings with other departments, evaluate technical proposals from external suppliers, and make implementation recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Lead the rapid development of user-driven prototypes to identify technical options and inform architectural approaches, working with colleagues and vendor team members to write tests, code and documentation for new and existing systems.
- Present and justify solution architecture design to product and technology leaders, business leaders
- Identify and present gaps between the standard and proposed solutions and use the exception / waiver process as needed as part of the Architecture Governance Board.
- Work with external vendors to ensure that their system architectures are robust, scalable, open, and secure, with appropriate overall system design and integration points/APIs, to deliver a high-quality user experience.
- Advise on, manage, and implement agile delivery projects, providing guidance, mentoring, and training in agile technical delivery and evolutionary software architecture to CCA departments, partners, and external agencies.
- Research and prepare senior level technical reports for executive management and manage special technology projects and initiatives as assigned
- Perform and evaluate cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large scale projects and recommend moderately complex systems investments to management and customers based on results of independent
- Work with Enterprise / Solution Architect(s) to enhance, develop and foster Architecture Governance Board and EA team activities
