They are actively seeking a Lead Sustainability Consultant to enrich their team and drive sustainable practices forward. The Role:
As a Lead Sustainability Consultant, you will collaborate closely with their regional Sustainability lead to implement sustainable strategies across projects and operations. Your primary focus will be on integrating environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles into their architectural designs, driving them towards their goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide sustainability thought leadership within the firm and the broader profession.
  • Lead teams of engineers and architects in delivering high-performance projects with zero carbon and zero energy footprints.
  • Support carbon footprint measurement, reduction, and offsetting initiatives towards Carbon Neutral operations.
  • Spearhead climate change mitigation efforts through innovative design solutions and research-driven insights.
  • Act as an in-house sustainability expert, guiding projects from inception through multiple building performance modeling tools.

Business Initiatives:

  • Facilitate the growth of a sustainability advisory team to enhance revenue streams.
  • Drive external sustainability engagement and collaborate with marketing teams to showcase achievements.
  • Lead internal research initiatives and cultivate external partnerships to advance sustainability practices.

Project Focus:

  • Collaborate with project teams to establish and review sustainability goals.
  • Influence future sustainability trends in building typologies.
  • Lead sustainability advisory projects and oversee formal sustainability reviews at all project design stages.
  • Develop best practice design guides for major building types.

Team Development:

  • Provide sustainability education across various roles and seniority levels.
  • Establish processes for internal knowledge exchange and external educational opportunities.
  • Identify and resource research and development streams to foster innovation.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of sustainability certifications, regulations, and green building standards.
  • Proficiency in sustainability assessment tools and software.
  • Experience in LEED or other green building certification projects.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration into building design.
  • Project management experience within architectural projects.
  • Passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable design.
  • Analytical mindset and strong leadership capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, sustainability, environmental design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture with a focus on sustainability.
  • Proven track record of leading sustainability initiatives and driving tangible change.
  • Background in creative environmental design.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
