Description:
- Ositos is an innovative bi-lingual (English and Spanish) child care center which will serve children ages 1-5, situated near Oxnard, CA. Funded and led by a social entrepreneur with extensive experience in education, Ositos will primarily serve low-income families and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Teacher to manage and oversee our Early Childhood Education program. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a mission-based non-profit initiative from its beginning.
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with 3-5+ years of relevant experience. The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with children and families. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and hands-on experience using the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) philosophy, but we will consider candidates with Montessori, Reggio, Waldorf, and others. RIE training will be provided.
REQUIREMENTS
- Assist in planning and establishment of the center.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education to children.
- Incorporate RIE principles into daily practices, fostering respectful and nurturing relationships with children and families.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to learn and grow.
- Develop and implement engaging and culturally responsive curriculum and activities that promote language development and cultural appreciation.
- Collaborate with families to understand and address the individual needs of each child, maintaining open and transparent communication.
- Stay abreast of best practices in early childhood education and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
- Direct and manage daily operations, focusing on program delivery, staff supervision, facilities management, and enrollment administration.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday, with timings to be determined
