An opportunity has arisen for Battery Build Lead Technician to join our Manufacturing Team in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. This is a key role working on advanced battery systems for motorsport, automotive, and industrial applications. Coordination and assistance in the assembly of production products against strict planned schedules to a very high standard of detail and quality.
Initially the role will be on a single day shift with the potential to move to 2 shifts in early 2025.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant Mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing experience
  • Desirable but not essential. Experience in a battery manufacturing environment working with HV modules
  • Basic PC skills Desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and Coordination of production operatives on shift.
  • Lead the build of complete battery sub-assemblies, modules and auxiliary components.
  • Provide technical support and advice to technicians and other departments as required.
  • Liaise with the Team Leader to ensure that products are delivered to the agreed schedule.
  • Report the status of battery sub-assemblies, modules and auxiliary components throughout projects.
  • Contribute to daily build meetings and weekly programme meetings.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the department as required.
  • Ensure that all relevant build documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Ensure that strict adherence to quality standards is maintained throughout the department.
  • Promote all Health, Safety and Environmental guidance and regulations within the department
  • Liaise with materials control to maintain the correct flow of parts and materials to the build area.
  • Drive continual improvement of build process, build work instructions and test instructions
  • Log and report faults and issues found during build and feed back into QMS.
  • Ensure that acceptable cleanliness standards are maintained in the working area.
  • Report and resolve issues within the work area
  • Support other Fortescue WAE programmes as required by the business
  • Support the business in any reasonable way as required.
