Description:

Alexandria Veterinary Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic, client focused Clinical Lead Veterinarian who wishes to practice high quality evidence-based medicine in a fun supportive environment. You will have experience in clinical general practice, with a passion for mentoring your team. This role will involve a mix of consulting, surgery, and management responsibilities for the Primary Care team within the hospital.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that is supported by a team of specialists including surgical, medical and emergency and critical care specialists. The role:

  • Clinical lead veterinarian, seeing primary clinical cases both medical and surgical
  • Oversee training of the primary care Veterinarian team.
  • Manage client complaints and issues both financial and clinical
  • Be the line manager for GP veterinarians
  • Assist with the performance appraisal of the GP veterinarians
  • Assist with training of nursing and animal attendants when needed.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a marketing plan
  • Be part of the leadership team of the hospital

    About you:

  • Bachelor or Doctor of Veterinary Science or higher

  • Registration with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board as a Veterinary Surgeon
  • Experience – at least five years of experience in primary care practice
