INTRODUCTION:
Australian Food & Fibre (AFF) is a business that combines significant knowledge and expertise to supply quality Australian cotton to the world, as well as cereals, pulses and oil seeds. As part of the AFF team, you will play a vital role in a large and successful agribusiness that spans production, processing, distribution and marketing.
DESCRIPTION:
Within the large-scale farm of Telleraga, located west of Moree, NSW, we are searching for a Leading Farm Hand to assist the Farm Manager with production planning and scheduling, safety, quality, and the functional management of plant and machinery. Farm hands are the building blocks of our business and the future of the organisation.
General responsibilities for this role will also include preparing fields, planting cotton, controlling weeds and insects, irrigating, applying fertiliser, and harvesting cotton. As Leading Farm Hand, you will also provide recommendations and take direction from the Farm Manager to execute farm strategy and undertake day to day tasks and priorities while complying with WHS legislation requirements.
We take our responsibility for maintaining a safety culture very seriously, actively ensuring awareness of safety to ‘keep people safe’ in all aspects of our operation.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
AFF is looking to provide you with the skills, training and mentorship to enable you to learn and grow in the role. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on a farm and possess the ability to work individually or in a group to achieve set tasks. You will also bring along a positive attitude and a willingness to learn to experience the diversity of working on a farm.
This role also offers onsite accommodation.
