JOB DESCRIPTION

Apollo Blinds, a leading provider of premium blinds, awnings, shutters, curtains, and screens, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Leading Hand to join our dynamic team in the Awning & Outdoor blind department. As a Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, follow, and enforce company policies to maintain a compliant and productive workplace.
  • Work alongside the team on the floor to comprehend the entire manufacturing process of awnings & outdoor blinds, from inception to completion.
  • Conduct thorough inductions and training for new team members, ensuring they understand and adhere to company processes.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in dealing with internal staff, fostering a positive and cohesive team environment.
  • Uphold rigorous quality control measures to ensure the delivery of superior products to our customers.
  • Manage stock ordering, rotation, and inventory control to optimize production efficiency.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping standards are maintained for a safe and organized workspace.
  • Meet daily production targets to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Proactively communicate any rebooking needs in advance of due dates to minimize disruptions.
  • Oversee rework processes, ensuring thorough checks before dispatch to customers.
  • Verify all paperwork completed by staff, highlighting any special requirements or discrepancies.
  • Promote a healthy workplace culture and cleanliness standards for employee well-being.
  • Respond promptly to all email correspondence related to production, orders, rework, and franchise communications.
  • Ensure received goods are promptly returned to their designated locations for easy access and inventory management.
  • Conduct follow-ups on rework tasks to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor staff breaks to prevent excessive downtime and maintain productivity levels.
  • Notify production via email of any delayed orders, providing reasons for the delay.
  • Collaborate closely with management and supervisors to achieve departmental goals.
  • Participate in stock take activities as required to maintain accurate inventory records.
