As a Workshop Leading Hand you will be responsible for the supervision of staff performing repairs and maintenance of the Transdev John Holland Bus fleet across our 3 bus depots at Port Botany, Randwick and Waverley (near Bondi Junction).
Your work will support the public transport industry across bus Region 9 in Sydney’s iconic Eastern Suburbs and support the connection between families, friends, and future generations. Help us deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable journeys.
You will be working shift work and weekends on a rotating roster but will also work as directed due to coverage of staff on annual leave.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To perform trades-based and associated maintenance work on Transdev John Holland Buses in an efficient and cost-effective manner to meet business and depot/regional requirements in accordance with regulatory standards.
Supervision of up to 30 staff from various trades such as Mechanics, Body Repairers, Spray painters, Auto Electricians, Trade Assistants, Apprentices, contractors, suppliers and couriers.
Assist the relevant Manager in implementing strategies and coordinating daily workshop activities to support compliance with Sydney Metropolitan Bus Services Contract (MBSC) requirements.
Conducting functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service.
Being responsible for fault finding and quality assurance of work completed.
Implementing strategies and supervising daily workshop activities to support the ongoing delivery of fleet operational requirements.
Maintaining and using administrative and computerised systems to maintain accurate records at all times to maximise the efficiency of operations, labour utilisation, quality control, the provision of inventory for body repair and cost effectiveness.
Investigating and preparing repots on matters that affect the performance as required.
Supervising and undertaking activities related to warranty procedures on a daily basis to ensure compliance.
