Description:
Salary: £22,556 – £25,205 (per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Crewe Campus
We are seeking an excellent communicator with experience of safeguarding and first aid to join our team at our Crewe Campus as Learner Safety Officer.
KEY PERSON SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Level 3 qualification or above, in a relevant discipline;
- First Aid at Work certificate (current) with commitment to remain valid;
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Experience of handling safeguarding issues and following safeguarding procedures;
- Proven experience of providing advice and guidance to learners;
- Proven track record of co-ordinating learner activities;
- Experience of first aid provision;
- Current, valid driving licence; and
- Enhanced DBS check

Responsibilities:
- Maintain high visibility across the campus, communicating effectively with learners and promoting positive behaviours;
- Be present at the campus barriers in the morning to support learner arrival;
- Be an active member of the Be-Safe team supporting and advising on safeguarding concerns, referrals & learner welfare;
- Act as first aider as required;
- Organise and support student participation activities including fundraising and other enrichment opportunities; and
- Develop and facilitate the Student Senate alongside the learners and support the learners to participate in learner voice activities.
