Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Forest Services as part of Forestry Commission are the Government’s forestry experts. We advise nationally and locally on how to unlock the full potential of woodlands and support the forestry sector to protect, improve and expand England’s valuable woodland assets, ensuring that they continue to provide benefits to people, the environment and the economy.
You will join our busy Learning and Apprenticeships team which sits within Strategy and Transformation, a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development and continuous improvement of Forest Services.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager and Learning Project Officers to develop, support, and administer training which supports operational delivery in the Forestry Commission. This will involve close working with training coordinators, heads of teams, training providers and staff from teams across the wider Forestry Commission.

SELECTION PROCESS DETAILS

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.
This role is a Fixed Term Appointment until 31st March 2025 with possibility of extension or permanency, but no guarantee.
As part of the application process, you will complete the following:
1. A tailored CV setting out your career history, with key responsibilities and achievements, of no more than two pages. Please ensure you have provided reasons for any gaps within the last two years.
2. A personal statement – in no more than 750 words showing how you meet the criteria of the person specification evidence and your preferred location.
Should a large number of applications be received, the initial sift may be conducted using the personal statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the essential experience person specification requirements shown above within the application responses. Failure to fully complete both sections (CV and Personal Statement) will mean the panel only have limited information on which to assess your application against the criteria in the person specification. The panel will look for applications that demonstrate the best fit for the role by considering the evidence you have provided against the criteria set out in the job description and responsibilities.
Applications will be sifted week commencing 20th May 2024.
Interviews will be held week commencing 10th June 2024.
Sift and interview dates are subject to change.
We will be conducting online interviews with the use of Microsoft Teams or equivalent online communication methods. Candidates would therefore require access to a computer and internet at interview stage.
