POSITION SUMMARY:

Position: Learning and Development Advisor
Location: Head Office, McKay Incubator Park

Schedule: 40-hour work week – Monday to Friday (Alternating Friday off Schedule)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Adult Education, or related social sciences.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, CPLP) is an asset.
  • Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • High proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and other technologies used in training delivery.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • Proven success in coordinating learning and development programs, including high-touch leadership programs.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintains a repository of learning resources and best practices to support ongoing learning and development efforts.
  • Develops and implements evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Learning & Development (L&D) Advisor leads the execution of our learning and development portfolio within the People and Culture department, partnering with internal and external clients to identify needs, design solutions, and implement programs driving organizational growth. The incumbent is a member of the People & Culture team and viewed as a trusted partner, leveraging expertise in training analysis, design, project management, and more to foster our Grow our Own culture, aligning with company goals and values. This role leads the development programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and inspire behavioral change amongst our employees.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the People & Culture Supervisor and Director, manage the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual and in person Leadership Development programs for the organization, including coordinating with off-site facilities to create amazing participant experiences.
  • Build strong ties with internal customers, ensuring innovative training strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Consult with experts to create engaging training materials, track training plans, and coordinate learning opportunities.
  • Consistently engage with leaders across the organization to inspire action and highlight ongoing Leadership Development initiatives.
  • Support all stages of the learning lifecycle including needs assessment, curriculum design, content development, delivery, measurement, and maintenance.
  • Develop or source high-quality content, ensure relevance, and manage UKG University content.
  • Ensure learning solutions demonstrate best practices in adult learning principles.
  • Assist in enhancing the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Conduct training and learning experiences fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Analyze organizational development, generate talent metrics reports and research industry trends.
  • Review and negotiate external contracts, obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of training programs and materials, reviewing annually for relevance and compliance.
  • Participate in People & Culture-related projects and initiatives, suggesting improvements and supporting talent development.
  • Be the leader and Ambassador for Franklin Covey L&D program.
  • Other Duties: Assist People & Culture or Leadership as needed to meet organizational needs.
