We are seeking a Learning and Development Coordinator for a key client of ours in the Chemical Processing industry located in Wyandotte, MI. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain the manufacturing unit’s training and development program, including the development, implementation, and documentation of all training curriculums, including all procedures in each program such as, PSM, RMP, RCMS, and cGMP.

  • Ensure that training (including procedures) is consistent, up to date, and effective.
  • Perform field training evaluations, including live training across all teams to ensure training consistency.
  • Participate in AIMS, MOCs, HAZOPs and PSSRs, as needed.
  • Leverage your educational background and preferred chemical plant experience.
  • Demonstrate excellence in chemical process knowledge, production processes, and results throughout career.
  • Experience managing the development and document control aspects of quality systems procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide effective and coordinated process safety support for CER.
  • Improve and maintain Operator qualification and requalification process.
  • Ensure that 14 elements of PSM are appropriately included in training materials.
  • Monitor effectiveness of the CER training systems and modify as required to meet necessary standards of performance.
  • Orient new employees to ensure understanding of EHS, cGMP and PSM requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinates / conducts new employee and contractor onboarding.
  • Develops improved training mechanisms, including videos and improved training delivery.
  • Collaborates with other units and corporate training group to improve the training program.
  • Coordinates common training with other local units.
  • Follow up on various training elements resulting from gap assessments.
  • Perform periodic audits of training programs.
  • Support Environmental, Safety, & Health initiatives.
  • Participation in MOCs, HAZOPs and PSSRs
  • Chemical plant experience and/or experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated excellence in chemical process knowledge, production processes, and results throughout career.
  • Demonstrated strong communications skills both within and outside of immediate team.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of performing gap assessments and identifying areas of improvement
  • Strong knowledge of learning and development principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Human Resources, Manufacturing, or a related degree
  • Demonstrated experience with on-site Learning and Development tools
  • Experience with various Learning Management Systems (LMS), past L&D experience, or E-Learning platforms or online training experience extremely helpful
