The Learning Innovation team, as part of the Lifelong Learning & Innovation team at U of T SCS, works to achieve the highest standard of excellence and quality in course design, curriculum, format, and instruction. We are responsible for leading the design, development, and renewal of leading non-credit, open enrolment courses and certificate programs as well as customized training solutions that align with industry and changes in the workplace. We strive to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate courses, certificates, and programs that are learner-centric and respond to the unique needs of busy adults seeking to achieve a wide variety of life and learning goals as part of their lifelong learning journey. Furthermore, we are committed to ensuring our over 800 instructors provide an environment where theory and practice intersect, and new skills can develop. The Learning Innovation team maximizes innovation and quality in leading the Division’s digital learning initiatives and delivery of online learning support services in support of effective teaching and learning. We are at the forefront of educational technology initiatives, revolutionizing the learning experience through innovative and cutting-edge solutions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree with curriculum focus in educational technology, instructional design, adult learning principles and curriculum development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating technology-mediated courses/programs for adult learners, in a revenue generating academic/ continuing education, professional development and/or learning and development context.
  • Experience in eLearning course design, development, and delivery.
  • Proven work experience with building courses/programs in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems and related software/ communications platforms.
  • Experience coordinating/supporting/planning several projects of varying complexities in a fast-paced environment and with a high degree of initiative, meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience with coordinating project plans and schedules and providing input on the development of guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops/training to internal and external stakeholders in an academic setting.
  • Understanding of and experience with AODA Compliance requirements in relation to course/program design, development and delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge in Office 365, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g. SharePoint) is preferred.
  • Ability to use tact, discretion, maintain confidentiality, flexibility and sound judgment.
  • Ability to research, identify trends, and best practices in digital learning, and remain well informed of developments in technology.
